AAPM Conference 2023 – Adelaide

The Australian Association of Practice Management (AAPM) is hosting their annual national conference this year at the Adelaide Convention Centre. It will be starting on Tuesday 10 October and ending on Friday 13th of October.

The event is accessible via Foyer E and Hall E, North Terrace, and once inside you will be able to find the Zedmed stall at stand number 49.

At the conference Zedmed will be demonstrating our all-in-one practice management system and discussing some of our exciting new technologies launching in the coming months.

In addition to company stalls, the event will feature a variety of plenary and concurrent sessions, networking opportunities, as well as an an optional Adelaide Hills Experience day tour. It is a great opportunity to learn from leading experts and network with peers.

This year there will be five guest speakers:

Joel Selwood

A 16-year career in the AFL saw Joel Selwood stamp his name as one of the best to have played the game. Now, the longest-serving captain in AFL history is entering the next phase of his career, sharing his knowledge beyond the AFL.

Widely celebrated for his professionalism, leadership and football brain, Joel has steadily built one of the most impressive resumes in VFL/AFL history and is recognised as a key element in creating a remarkable culture of success at the Geelong Football Club.

Off the football field, Selwood is passionate about helping people reach their potential, using his platform as an AFL legend to inspire and motivate. An influential role model, Joel continues to lead and engage within the greater Australian community.

Shane Jacobson

Shane Jacobson is one of Australia’s most loved, award-winning actors, presenters and entertainers. His incredible and varied career spans over 40 years, both here in Australia and internationally.

Best known for his work in film, television and theatre, he’s also a song and dance man, author, screen writer, creative director, producer, executive producer, plus an ambassador for many worthy charities and organisations. As a mental health advocate, Shane is passionate about the importance of sparking conversations, increasing awareness and reducing stigma around mental health.

Working with some of the biggest names in show business, his notable screen credits include Oddball, The Dressmaker, Australia’s Got Talent, Little Big Shots and the hit Aussie classic, Kenny. On the stage, Shane has had roles in a number of theatre productions including Guys and Dolls and Hairspray.

Carol Fox

Known as the Confident Communication Expert, Carol has helped thousands of people to be confident in their interactions at work and in their private lives.

Acknowledged as an Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence, Carol brings over thirty years of expertise and experience in elite sport performance and emergency services to ensure leaders and business owners eliminate self-doubt and build more confidence, so they enjoy positive interactions at work and achieve successful outcomes for their customers.

Her passion is to equip people with the skills to have an influential presence, enjoy being with people and be confident in any situation.

Dr Natalie Flatt

Dr. Natalie Flatt Ph.D. is a psychologist and co-founder of Connect Psych Services, an innovative platform which supports employees and leaders anytime, anywhere and provides actionable key insights to organisations as a preventive and proactive measure towards workplace mental health. Natalie values a ‘how to approach’ to wellbeing supported by research evidence to lead to greater intrinsic motivation and behaviour change.

Tegan Taylor – Master of Ceremonies

Tegan is a health and science reporter for the ABC, gaining public prominence as co-host of Radio National’s Health Report and the award-winning Coronacast podcast. She also hosts the live event series and radio program/podcast Ockham’s Razor.

In 2020, Tegan and the Coronacast podcast won the Walkley Award for Radio/Audio: News & Current Affairs and the Eureka Prize for Science Journalism.

Tegan is a warm and engaging MC and AAPM looks forward to welcoming her back to the 2023 National Conference.
